SYNOPSIS: The DFARS is being amended to reflect the establishment of the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), update references and activity addresses, and delete obsolete text.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: On April 3, 2000, DOD announced that it was converting the Defense Contract Management Command (DCMC), which had been a major subordinate command of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), into a separate agency called the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA). As part of the transition, DCMA decided to rename "contract administration offices" as "contract management offices." To reflect these changes, the DFARS is revised to replace "Defense Contract Management Command" with "Defense Contract Management Agency", "DCMC" with "DCMA", and "contract administration offices" with "contract management offices". Also, DFARS 202.101, Definition, is amended by adding a definition of "contract administration office" which states that the term "also means a contract management office of the Defense Contract Management Agency".
